      As the country's primary fishing and trading port, Callao is the maritime gateway to Peru. From the town centre, journey on to the capital, Lima, and wander around the Plaza Mayor (formerly Plaza de Armas), crowned with its gorgeous bronze fountain. Embellished with neo-colonial buildings such as the Government Palace or the Cathedral of Lima, the esplanade is a symbol of the city's founding by conquistador Francisco Pizarro in 1535. Two streets away is the Monastery of San Francisco, one of the city's best-preserved colonial structures. Further south, don't miss the superb cloisters and patios of the Casona San Marcos.

      In the south of Peru, discover the small port town of Pisco, named in reference to the Quechua word Pisscu, meaning “bird”. The region is indeed renowned for its wide variety of birdlife that you can observe in the Paracas national park and in the Ballestas Islands. In addition to this exceptionally well-preserved nature, the province also boasts major historical treasures such as the archaeological site of Tambo Colorado, vestige of the Inca civilisation, the Nazca Lines, very precise traces representing geometric figures on the arid earth of the Peruvian plain, or the Candelabra, a mysterious hieroglyph sculpted into the rock by the Paracas, a pre-Inca civilisation.

      Coastal town in the north of Chile, capital of the Tarapacà region, Iquique enjoys a unique location between the Pacific and the cliffs of the Cordillera de la Costa. Although the bustle of its harbour makes this a modern city, it also has many admirable relics from Chile’s past. You’ll love to stroll in the old centre, which is one of many preserved structures, such as the old aristocratic district of Paseo Baquedano or the neoclassical style municipal theatre.

      On Chile'sᅠNorte Chico (Little North) is the port of Coquimbo where peace and harmony reign, sheltered in the inlet of the La Herradura Bay. This charming seaside town is mere minutes away from La Serena. Set off to discover this site along the Pacific Ocean and its spectacular sandy beaches. Founded in 1544, this old town has retained its beautiful colonial architecture that bears traces of Spanish and neoclassical influences. Venture deeper inland to the Elqui Valley, one of the country's largest and most spectacular. This valley was the birthplace of Gabriela Mistral, the renowned poet, and is also where Chile's famous pisco is made.

      Located about 100 kilometres south of Santiago, the legendary Valparaiso is the second largest city in Chile. It is also a splendid city, full of history: two qualities justifying its nickname “gem of the Pacific” and its status as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can stroll along the steep streets, on foot or by cable car, and explore the many admirable sites like the delicate Iglesia de la Matriz, Sotomayor square, Bellavista hill, or Sebastiana house where the author Pablo Neruda lived. At every turning, you’ll get a refreshing view of the sea.

      • Passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the completion of your trip. Passport must contain at least two completely clear, blank, unused visa pages for each visa required, not including any amendment pages. Visa pages with stains or ink from other pages in the passport are not usable. Guests who deviate from the scheduled embarkation or disembarkation port should research the foreign entry requirements for the port country.       Patrick Baudry

      After five years in advanced mathematics, Patrick BAUDRY received a Master's degree in aeronautical engineering from the French Air Force Academy of Salon de Provence. He was awarded his fighter pilot wings in 1970 and spent the next seven years on squadron duties, flying F 100 and Jaguar strike fighters ; he was assigned to different Air Force bases in France and performed many temporary assignments in Africa. In 1978, he applied for a position as a student test pilot and was sent to the Empire Test Pilot School, Boscombe Down, England. One year later, he was graduated, receiving the Patuxent Trophy awarded to the best foreign student. He has flown over 15,000 hours (11,000 hours aboard jet planes) logged on 350 different fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft types including 30 combat type (among which Mirage III, Jaguar, Mirage 2000, F15, Mig 29 and Sukhoi 27).

      Patrick Baudry has also Airline and Helicopter Professional pilot licences. When in 1980 CNES (French Space Agency) opened the recruiting process for the Interkosmos - CNES orbital mission planned for 1982, he applied for a cosmonaut position. He was selected from a pool of 2000 candidates and spent the next two years at the Star City, near Moscow, undergoing the standard training process given to Soviet cosmonauts. He was qualified as cosmonaut-engineer on the Soyuz-T spacecraft /Saliut 7 Space Station Complex. He participated in the first French-Soviet space flight as back-up crew member. His duties were to perform experiments, including physiological, biological and astronomical research.

      On 23rd March 1984, the first French-American space flight was decided, and Patrick BAUDRY joined the Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas. After one year of training, he was assigned to the Mission 51-E and then to the Mission 51-G. The launch took place on 17th June, 1985, form Cap Canaveral, at Kennedy Space Center,Florida. The main objective of the mission, was to deliver three satellites in orbit. Patrick BAUDRY had the responsibility of a scientific and medical program for French and American research laboratories. On 1st March 1986, Patrick BAUDRY was appointed to become Advisor of the Chairman of Aerospatiale Company. He was the Test Pilot for the European space plane Hermes, for which Aerospatiale was industrial prime contractor. From 1993 to 2003, Patrick BAUDRY was advisor for manned space flights at EADS, and SeniorTest Pilot for Airbus Industrie. He was in charge of flight presentations of Airbus prototypes in all international airshows as Le Bourget (France), Farnborough (Great Britain), MAKS (Joukovski-Russia), Santiago de Chile, Acapulco (Mexico), Dubaï, Djakarta (Indonesia), etc…

      Patrick BAUDRY founded in July, 1989, in Cannes-Mandelieu, the first European Space Camp, Space Training Center for the preparation for life in space. In 1990, he founded ACADIS High School.He is a lecturer, a writer, and a consultant, expert in Space activities and aeronautics. He is a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, a Board Member of the Foundation for Olympic Truce (C.I.O) and a Board Member of the AVU (African Virtual University) , Officier de la Légion d'Honneur, Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite, and holds the Médaille de l'Aéronautique. He is Member of the Soviet Order for Friendship among people, Member of the Gagarine Soviet Order, Abdulaziz Medal (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and is Officier de l'Ordre du Mono (TOGO). Patrick BAUDRY was also awarded the American Space Flight Medal and Lindberg Trophy (USA). He is a member of several Academies, including the Association for European Astronauts, the National Air and Space Academy, the International Academy of Astronautics and the Association of Space Explorers.

      Philippe Legrand

      Journalist, author, speaker and Director of Communications, Philippe Legrand joined Paris Match in the nineties. He presents ‘Face Caméra’ in the Sunday programme, ‘L’Émission du Dimanche’, on France 3, and for the last four years has been the leading light behind ‘Paris Match Cruises with PONANT’. His ninth book is called ‘Les Pantouflards’ (Éd. Economica).

      After the bachelor’s degree and a year in preparatory class (hypokhagne), Stéphanie Cassan did a  History&German degree before getting a MA degree in Political Science (Panthéon Sorbonne). First interested in being a journalist, she began to work for specialized magazines (property sector, construction industry, theater). 

      Then she decides to move towards a career in communication and starts as communications chief in a major food group. 

      She founds in 2005 her own communications agency Virages.S without giving up her passion for writing through two novels she wrote, Virage in 2007 and SDF Sans difficultés financières in 2010. 

      Specialized in communication and event marketing, every year her agency organize events around sports (golf, urban football, bocce) in France and Morocco. It has been more than 20 years that she lives between France and Morocco where she founded another agency Stefevents. Very concerned by the associative world, she makes « celebrities » supporting causes she defends : Huntington France to make a commitment for research, C.C.S.F in Morocco in order to help the moroccan girls from the countryside to attend school. 

      She also does communications consultancy for an institute of food nutrition and salutation Libre Forme 8. She is at the source of an editorial project under the theme « culinary recipes and life recipes ». Wholesome food to stay healthy. A recipe = a philosophical though = a way of living. A recipe to the pursuit of happiness at the table ? A food recipe for a spirit recipe. The benefits of this book will be given to an association.
