      LE LYRIAL

Fourth ship in this superb series loyal to the PONANT spirit, Le Lyrial like her sisterships embodies the subtle alliance between luxury, intimacy and wellbeing which is PONANT’s signature. The elegance of her exterior and interior lines and her intimate size (only 122 staterooms and suites) make this a rare and innovative yacht on the cruise market.

      Interior Design
We have been inspired by the destinations we visit and decided to create a subtle variation around a palette of blues. Ranging from the luminous delicate grey-blue of the Polar ice to splashes of the vivid turquoise blue found in Mediterranean coves, it also includes the blue light of the future pole star.

You will be enchanted by the rocky plateau presided by its monuments listed as UNESCO World Heritage. In the city below, you can visit some of the liveliest districts in Athens: Plaka, with its maze of colourful streets, and where, in the evenings the drifting aroma of moussaka and garlic prawns will tickle your taste buds. Don’t miss anything of the city’s cultural past. Pay a visit to the National Archaeological museum, or the Cycladic Art Museum.

This unusual gem belonging to the Saronic islands is located to the east of the Peloponnese. There are no cars here. Named after the island, the harbour town is layered up the slopes of a mountainous bay. You may be surprised to see beautiful stone mansions. These are traditional here, as are the multi-coloured caïquesalong the quays. Further along the shore, within the walls of the “Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary” is a museum of Byzantine art. Collections from Athens National History Museum are exhibited in the elegant villa Koundouriotis.

      3 August 2017 – Nissyros

Arrival 03/08/2017 mid morning. Departure 03/08/2017 evening.

Another best kept secret of the Dodecanese, Nisyros Island is located to the north-west of Rhodes. Its capital is Mandraki. As you approach by sea, you’ll be dazzled by the white houses spread out below the hillsides planted with fig and olive trees. Another site with characteristic architecture is the village of Nikia. Its charming square is decorated with lava stone mosaics. Don’t miss the museum where you’ll find all the lowdown on the activity of the Nisyros volcano. In the high areas, you can get close up to the liquid sulphur crater lakes. Further down, Palaikastro’s obsidian artefacts will reveal secrets of an ancient acropolis built opposite the shore.

      4 August 2017 – Diafani

      4 August 2017 – Diafani

Arrival 04/08/2017 early morning. Departure 04/08/2017 early evening.

Time seems to stand still on Karpathos as your ship slowly glides towards this mountainous island situated between Crete and Rhodes. You will call at Diafani, an old fishing village where you’ll find traditional white houses with flat roofs. From Diafani, seize the opportunity to discover one of the best preserved villages in Greece, Olympos, which has retained its traditions and its ancestral way of life. Here, it is quite common to encounter women dressed in traditional garb as they make their way to the communal oven to bake their bread. You will also be able to admire many churches, such as the church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, built in the 16th century.

      5 August 2017 – Amorgos

      5 August 2017 – Amorgos

Arrival 05/08/2017 early morning. Departure 05/08/2017 early evening.

It’s no accident that the island of Amorgos was chosen as a shooting location for Luc Besson’s film, The Big Blue. You too will fall under the charm of this island as your ship edges closer. Amorgos is the most easterly island in the Cyclades and stands out for its rocky inlets with crystal-clear water and its small, picturesque villages. This port of call will be your chance to visit one of the prettiest villages in the Cyclades, Chora, and discover its cobbled streets and whitewashed houses overlooked by a castle. Byzantine churches, windmills and courtyards brimming with flowers complete this typical tableau of timeless Greece.

      6 August 2017 – Kythira

      6 August 2017 – Kythira

Arrival 06/08/2017 early morning. Departure 06/08/2017 early evening.

Kythira, birthplace of Aphrodite according to mythology, has inspired poets and painters. Today, it is a charming port of call at the crossroads of Greece’s three seas: The Ionian, the Aegean and the Sea of Crete. From the deck of your vessel, let your gaze travel over the pine forests of the North of the island, the wild gorges in the South, and the red sandy beaches of Firi Ammos to the East. Villages of dazzling whiteness and unique architecture including Kythira, the capital, as well as the ruins at Milopotamos and Paleohora, are also worthy of a visit.

      7 August 2017 – Sifnos

      7 August 2017 – Sifnos

Arrival 07/08/2017 early morning. Departure 07/08/2017 early evening.

Nestling in the Cyclades, the harmonious and much less crowded island of Sifnos is home to many treasures. Exploited since antiquity for its gold and silver mines, this little-known pearl boasts gentle landscapes and is a botanical paradise. The rich endemic flora can be admired along the island’s mountain paths that have been trodden for thousands of years. From the main port of Kamares, set off to discover the nearby sandy beach which runs along a lagoon and whose dunes are covered in sea daffodils. The picturesque fortified village of Kastro is another of the island’s wonders. Sitting atop a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea, this spot, where people have lived since prehistoric times, is very much an open-air museum.

      Alain Choquette

      Alain Choquette

Born in Quebec, Alain Choquette dreams of becoming a famous magician from his earliest age. Specialised in “close-up magic”, he handles card tricks with skill and bases his shows on a close collaboration with his audience. With humour and poetry, Alain Choquette offers another approach to magic while collaborating with renowned artists like the famous magician David Copperfield.

In his early stages, Alain presented his close-up magic tricks to the most popular talk show in Quebec television "Ad Lib". Starting from 1993, he multiplied performances in Quebec and in the United States. His first show “Première apparition” was a great success in Montreal with 200 performances within two years.

This dazzling celebrity brought him then to the American stages. He was invited to participate in the TV special "World's Greatest Magic" broadcast by NBC and watched by over 26 million viewers, and then to join the American tour 50th anniversary of the prestigious Radio City Music Hall in New York.

In 2003, he presented “Alain Choquette et compagnie” at the Casino of Montreal, and mystified Montrealers with “La Disparition des Douze” in which he removed 12 randomly selected people within the public. This trick gave him a worldwide reputation.

Alain Choquette crossed the Atlantic in 2013 to seduce the French audience through his participation at the Comedy Magic Show of Arturo Brachetti. He came back to France in late 2014, and since then has been presenting his new show “Drôlement magique” across the country.
