Harrington Harbour, a pretty village renowned for its brightly coloured residences, its wooden boardwalks and its striking coastal panoramas, stands out thanks to its picturesque charm and preserved authenticity. This coastal village, nestling in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, is recognised as one of the thirty most beautiful villages in Quebec. Accessible only by sea or air, this village offers a unique window onto the existence of an isolated community.
Wander along the boardwalks of Harrington Harbour, where you will be initiated into the particularities of its residents’ insular way of life. This excursion will reveal the very essence of what gives Harrington Harbour its exceptional character. The absence of roads and motorised vehicles conjures up the atmosphere of a traditional Newfoundlander fishing port and lends this place a rare calmness, where people get around mainly on foot or by bike. During this 90-minute walk, you will visit the emblematic spots immortalised in the film “Seducing Doctor Lewis”. Your trip will continue at the Rowsell House Interpretation Centre, a cultural and historic site offering an in-depth immersion into the existence and events of this isolated little town. The high point of your visit will take place at the community centre, the veritable social and recreational heart of the village. There you will taste some local seafood accompanied by hot beverages. It will also be an opportunity to meet local artisans and appreciate their creations. At the end of the guided tour, you will have some free time to stroll around the centre and the surrounding area before going back to your ship.
· This excursion involves walking for approximately 1.5 kilometres (0.9 miles) on uneven ground and elevated paths We recommend you wear several layers of clothing along with suitable shoes. As Harrington Harbour is a small community, the island visit can only be done in small groups and as a guided tour, with staggered departures. Visitors will have some free time to make the most of the community centre and its surroundings, but it is not possible to walk on the island alone.

In the north west, like its neighbours La Grande Passe and La Petite Passe, Île de la Passe is a paradise for hikers, revealing fine expanses of sand and dense forests of spruce and fir trees, mossy undergrowth dotted with bright wild flowers.
On this island, you will also be able to visit the Maison Jos-Hébert museum, a reproduction of the house of the Lower-North-Shore’s first postman, a kind of local legend who used to deliver the post on dog sled.

Bilbao is a constantly evolving metropolis where the traditions of the past live side by side with futuristic buildings acknowledged throughout the world as icons of modernity. This excursion allows you to discover both of these sides of the city—the new and the old.
As you drive from the port to the center of the city, pass by some of the newest structures in Bilbao, many of them built along the shores of the Nervion River. The best known of these, of course, is Frank Gehry’s striking Guggenheim Museum, a work that set the standard for the "new Bilbao." Other modern structures encountered on the drive include the Palacio Euskalduna, a Conference Center and Concert Hall built between 1994 and 1999, and Zubiarte, a shopping mall and entertainment complex opened in 2004 and expanded in 2015.
Having seen the riverfront New Bilbao, you reach Bilbao's Old Quarter (Casco Viejo), an area of narrow streets lined with Renaissance, Baroque and Modernist buildings, where a guided tour introduces you to the old. As you walk, your guide will point out key landmarks and monuments, including Santiago Cathedral, the oldest structure in the quarter, the Gothic Church of San Anton, and the Plaza Nueva, the center of the social life of the area. Enjoy some time at leisure to stroll around on your own, perhaps sampling some of the Basque region's twist on Spanish tapas, before returning to the ship.
· This is a relatively easy excursion, with a total of approximately 1 mile of walking over mostly flat, sometimes cobblestone surfaces. We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing.
