At the mouth of the Brunei River on the northern coast of the island of Borneo, Bandar Seri Begawan is the capital of the Sultanate of Brunei, a small enclave within Malaysia. A real showcase for the sultanate, the royal treasures of the Royal Regalia Museum and luxurious palaces and mosques rub shoulders with the houses on stilts of the original town of Kampong Ayer. You will be able to travel up the mangrove-edged river to bathe in a waterfall in the middle of primary forest or set off to discover the traditional way of life of the inhabitants of a water village. In the middle of this exuberant nature, you will perhaps get a glimpse of a small proboscis monkey, an endangered species endemic to Borneo.
