Cruises visiting Jaqué
On the Pacific coast, 40 km south-east of the Colombian border, at the mouth of the Jaqué River in Darién Province, lies the small Panamanian town of Jaqué. Surrounded by mangroves and a tropical rainforest, with no road access, the village clings to a pretty wave-battered coast. Sea turtles come here during nesting season and many people volunteer to be involved in the “arribadas”.
