Situated on a chain of volcanoes listed as World Heritage by UNESCOthe south of the Kamchatka Peninsula meets the Pacific Ocean in the far east of Russia. Here ends the Ring of Fire, a subduction zone of the Pacific Plate, which is slowly sliding underneath the Asian plate, causing numerous eruptions. You will discover stunning landscapes created by this abundant volcanic activity, such as mountain peaks, fjords and hot springs surrounded by lush vegetation. You will also be able to observe some Kamchatka brown bears, as well as numerous species of seabirds and marine mammals such as Steller’s sea eagles, Steller sea lions, orcas, eared seals and whales.
