To the south-west of Alaska in the Alexander archipelago, you can explore Tebenkof bay, in the crook of Kuiu island, dominated by a superb mountain range. You will be lucky enough to get close up to the natural wilderness of this delicate ecosystem. Along the shoreline laced with fjords and creeks, admire the wonders of the Tongass National forest, the largest temperate forest in the United States: some of these hundred year old trees seem to stretch to heaven. Tebenkof bay’s waters shelter numerous species of sea life. As you explore, you may spot a humpback whale or a sea lion.
