Mezzo-soprano Axelle Saint-Cirel made a stunning impact by performing the Marseillaise on the rooftop of the Grand Palais during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a performance described as a "groundbreaking discovery" by France 2.
A graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, she refines her voice and interpretation alongside renowned artists such as Sumi Jo, Anne Sofie Von Otter, Barbara Frittoli, and Sophie Koch.
Selected by Opera for Peace, she represented France at the 2023 academy and was named an Emerging Artist for the 2024-2025 season. Winner of the Gordes Melody, Nuits Lyriques de Marmande, and Voix des Outre-mer competitions, she is also a finalist for the 2023 Génération Opéra program.
Axelle has portrayed roles such as Carmen at the Avignon Opera, Nicklausse in *Les Contes d’Hoffmann*, and characters in *L’Enfant et les Sortilèges* at the Monte-Carlo Opera Academy. She has also played Dinah, Anita, and Ruth in Leonard Bernstein’s musicals.
Invited by Sabine Devieilhe, she performed Mozart concert arias at Salle Gaveau. After exploring jazz and musical theater, Axelle now specializes in opera. She performs in Monaco, London, Abu Dhabi, and several French cities.
