Julie Robard-Gendre
Julie Robard-Gendre began her musical studies at the Conservatoire of Nantes before furthering her training at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in composition and voice.
She quickly took on major roles such as Prince Charming (Cendrillon) in Massy, Orpheus (Orphée et Eurydice) in Angers-Nantes, the title role in Carmen in Reims and then in Rennes, and La Périchole in Metz.
In recent years, she made her debut at the Paris Opera in Die Zauberflöte and Les Huguenots, performed Fenena (Nabucco) in Nice and Toulon, La Belle Hélène in Lausanne, and Nefertiti (Akhnaten) in Nice.
Among her recent role engagements, she reprised Carmen at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie and in the adaptation La Tragédie de Carmen at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and on tour. In the 2024–2025 season, she will debut as Venus in Tannhäuser at the Seoul Opera and as Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana in Saint-Étienne.
She has also recorded the role of Persephone (Ariane by Massenet) with the Bavarian Radio Choir and Orchestra for the Palazzetto Bru Zane label.
In 2025–2026, Julie Robard-Gendre will return to the world of Philip Glass at the Nice Opera (Satyagraha) and the Philharmonie de Paris (Akhnaten), make her debut at the Opéra-Comique in Markus Pintscher’s creation (La Nuit sans aube), perform Urgèle in La Belle au bois dormant by Charles Silver in Saint-Étienne, and close her season with La Belle Hélène at the Avignon Opera.
