Nicole Corti

Nicole Corti

Artistic director of the Spirito choir since 2017, her career is built on two foundational pillars: conducting and pedagogy. In 1981, Nicole Corti founded the Britten Choir, which gained international renown thanks to numerous concerts performed across Europe and the United States.
She was the first woman to direct the Maîtrise of Notre-Dame de Paris from 1993 to 2006, contributing to a profound renewal of the choral system, with the project flourishing in multiple dimensions, both in concert production and singer training.
In 2008, she was appointed to lead the choral conducting class at the CNSMD (Conservatory) of Lyon. Remarkably, Nicole Corti’s work has been honored twice with the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for Choral Singing: in 2002 with the Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris and in 2010 with the Britten Choir.
She was named Knight of the National Order of Merit in 2002, Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2015, and promoted to Officer of the National Order of Merit in 2022.
