Indonesia: A visa is required to enter Indonesia. For entry by sea or for itineraries including exit and re-entry into Indonesian territory: for cruises including a stop in Indonesia mid-voyage, a visa will be issued and charged onboard (€35, rate subject to change). This visa is valid for 30 days and allows single entry into Indonesia.
Important: If the itinerary includes an exit and subsequent re-entry into Indonesia (especially via stopovers in other countries), a multiple-entry visa is mandatory. The visa issued onboard will not be valid in such cases. You must apply for a multiple-entry visa before departure, online via the official website: https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/
TOURIST TAX: A tourist tax of 150,000 IDR (approximately €9.50) must be paid upon each entry into Bali (LoveBali). Tourists arriving in Bali by air will pay the tax at the airport counter. For those joining or disembarking the ship at the Port of Benoa, the port agent will handle all payments directly with the local tourism office upon the ship's arrival.
HEALTH – MPOX: Due to the Mpox outbreak, classified by the WHO as a public health emergency of international concern, all international travelers entering Indonesia must complete the SATUSEHAT Health Pass to declare their health status and travel history. Each traveler must complete the form online between 72 and 48 hours prior to departure: https://sshp.kemkes.go.id/
To secure the boarding on departure day, we strongly recommend that you spend the night before in the city that your ship leaves from. Similarly, on the day you disembark we advise you just as strongly to reserve a flight that leaves the day after your arrival. Indeed, these “Ocean Voyages” long trips are more than any other type of travel subject to climatic hazards, including winds and currents, which may require anticipating the departure of the ship, and / or delay the arrival of the ship.

Located to the south of the main island of the Yaeyama archipelago, Ishigaki boasts all the aspects of an authentic piece of paradise. You have guessed it, you do not come here for its skyscrapers but for its pure emerald waters and idyllic beaches. The waters off Shiraho, on the island's south-west coast, have one of the largest areas of blue coral in the world.
During your journey at sea, make the most of the many services and activities on board. Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation in the spa or stay in shape in the fitness centre. Depending on the season, let yourself be tempted by the swimming pool or a spot of sunbathing. This journey without a port of call will also be an opportunity to enjoy the conferences or shows proposed on board, depending on the activities offered, or to do some shopping in the boutique or to meet the PONANT photographers in their dedicated space. If it's a taste of exotic authenticity you're after, prepare to be spell-bound by the island of Bali, tucked away in the heart of the Indonesian archipelago. The beauty and diversity of its landscapes, the depth and richness of its cultural heritage and the plethora of activities on offer here make Bali a little slice of heaven on Earth. The island's southern coast enthrals with its white sand beaches, its picturesque little fishing villages such as Benoa, and its hills patchworked with terraced rice paddies further inland. Nicknamed 'the Island of Gods' for its sumptuous temples, Bali is the beating heart of Indonesian Hinduism.
Le Jacques Cartier
In keeping with the philosophy of PONANT and the PONANT EXPLORERS, Le Jacques-Cartier is a modern ship with slender, tapered lines, it is environmentally friendly and equipped with innovative technology. Tastefully decorated, Le Jacques-Cartier reflects the universe so dear to PONANT, with its light tones and open-to-the-sea design providing soft light and luminosity at every instant of the day. Its ethnic chic ambiance pays homage to the destinations we visit.
Located below the waterline, the Blue Eye offers a unique experience: the opportunity to enjoy undersea views and the sounds of the marine world whilst sharing a glass together.
Aboard your ship, an English-speaking lecturer will enlighten you about the culture and history of your destination to deepen your knowledge of the origins of local traditions, the history of emblematic sites, and stories involving famous personalities and those of major historical significance. During on-board lectures or on your shore visits, this expert will be there to share their precious knowledge with you throughout your PONANT cruise.
