You will board Le Bellot in Fort-de France, the capital of Martinique.
First of all, your ship will reach the charming shores of Guadeloupe. You will discover the ravishing Baie des Saintes, a very popular spot for mooring, with crystal clear waters and fabulous seabeds.
You will then sail towards the island of Antigua. The naval dockyard dating back to Georgian times, sheltered in the hollow of a bay protected from this island with craggy coastlines, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your ship will then set sail for the famous island of Saint-Barthélemy, renowned for its wild coves and its elegant little shopping streets.
Located between the Lesser Antilles and the Greater Antilles, the British Virgin Islands are composed of some sixty islands, most of which are uninhabited. Discover on Virigin Gorda, The Baths National Park and its huge blocks of granite, surrounded by caves and rock pools, before a stop in Jost Van Dyke for a relaxing swim.
You will finish your journey in the Caribbean Sea on the island of the Dominican Republic. There will be a port of call in the charming bay of Santa Bárbara de Samaná, which is edged by creole houses, from where you will be able to go and discover the caverns and mangrove of Los Haitises National Park. Then, you will be able to appreciate the charms of Santo Domingo, the oldest capital of the “New World”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In your hand luggage, remember to bring any medicines that you need, and possibly a small spare bag of toiletries (in case of delay in the delivery of your baggage by the airline). Remember to always have your travel documents with you in case you need them: hotel vouchers, cruise vouchers, return flight tickets... Never leave them in your hold luggage.
All our cabins have a safe. We recommend not to go ashore with valuable jewellery.

Diving & initiation dive
Supervision of the dives
Your dives will be led by your PONANT instructor. He will take care of your safety and that all goes smoothly. On some diving sites, as in natural reserves or if the local regulations require it, a local guide will escort the diving.
Level required for scuba diving on this cruise
The minimum level required for scuba diving on this cruise is 1 star CMAS or the PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent). The certification card, the diving log book and a recent medical certificate (less than 12 months) must be presented at the beginning of the cruise to our main diving instructor.
Process of the dives (certified divers)
The instructor reserves the right to check divers’ ability for maximum safety. As we will dive in remote places, the dives will be done without decompression stop. A safety stop of 3 minutes at 5 metres will be mandatory. The depth that can be reached will depend on the certification of the divers:
Process of the initiation dives (novice divers)
Before your initiation dive, your instructor will show you the equipment and will explain to you how to communicate underwater using hand gestures and how to breathe through a regulator. Once in the water, equipped with your material, you will learn how to breathe through your regulator on the surface for a couple of minutes. When your instructor feels you are ready, he will immerse you in water for about 20 minutes to a depth of 6 metres maximum.
Duration of the dives
The diving activity lasts from 2 to 3 hours, which includes the journey to the diving site and the diving. This duration may vary according to the site, the level of divers, weather conditions and the number of participants. For experienced divers, the duration of dives varies between 35 and 60 minutes depending on the site, the diver’s experience and consumption.
Supplied equipment
Mask and snorkel: for health reasons due to Covid-19, we strongly recommend that you come on board with your own mask and snorkel .As an exception, you will be able to borrow them in accordance with sanitary conditions.
The passenger may participate in scuba diving activities, subject to compliance with certain conditions established in accordance with the health, scientific and medical measures applicable on the day of the dive.

Fauna and flora of the Caribbean Sea
The fauna of the Caribbean Sea is very varied. During the different dives, divers can observe various species of benthic fauna such as French angel fish, queen angel fish, spotted drums, puffer fish, parrots fish, and pelagic fauna such as spotted eagle ray, barracudas, horse eyes jackfish, as well as fixed wildlife such as gorgonians and barrel sponges.

Located on the western coast of Martinique, Fort-de-France will amaze you by the splendour of its bay, a magnificent cut-out in the coastline, considered as one of the most beautiful in the world. At the harbour mouth, on its strip of land, fort Saint-Louis overlooks the capital city of Martinique. If you climb up to it, you can see some breath-taking views. Saint Louis Cathedral and the Schoelcher library bear witness to a secular history, intimately linked to the island’s story. Why not try some fresh coconut at the colourful Grand Marché. Two really pleasant places you can take a breather in, right in the heart of the city, are the garden of Balata and the Aimé Césaire park.

During the feast of All Saints in 1493, Christopher Columbus discovered this archipelago of nine islands that he named "The Saints". Today, only two of them are inhabited. Terre de Haut, in the east, is dominated by the Morne Mire hill; at the summit stands Fort Napoleon, paying homage to the islands' history. In the heart of the botanical garden, shared by iguanas and cacti, there is an exceptional view of the Baie des Saintes, one of the most beautiful in the world. The long shady beach of Pompierre, where it is forbidden to drop anchor, is a peaceful place for a swim, while Pain de Sucre Beach offers wonderful opportunities for snorkelling. On the island, don’t forget to taste the local speciality, the “tourment d’amour”, a cake made with coconut.

South-west of the Dominican Republic, along the Pedernales Peninsula, renowned for its particularly rich biodiversity, discover Bahia de las Aguilas, literally meaning the Bay of Eagles. A true paradise on earth, the site offers a magnificent expanse of white sand and warm, crystal-clear waters: an almost desert-like setting that contrasts with the dense vegetation of the Sierra de Bahoruco. Considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic, it is also one of the most unspoiled. Off the Riviera Maya, Cozumel is Mexico’s second largest island. Located at the northern extremity of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, the island is renowned for its snorkelling and diving sites and the incredible clarity of its waters protected by a marine park. The island’s coasts and interior are also full of treasures: sacred Maya sites devoted to medicine, love and fertility; cenotes; a museum; an ecological reserve; mangroves; lagoons; coastal dunes; long unspoiled beaches. Don’t hesitate to climb to the top of the lighthouse in the Punta Sur Nature Reserve in the island’s south, to admire the panorama of these wild expanses from above.
From the pier, you will meet your guide to discover the secrets of Terre-de-Haut.
After a short walk, you will board a mini-bus and drive to the Vauban-style Fort Napoléon which overlooks ‘La Baie des Saintes’. It was built in the mid-1800's as a tribute to Napoleon III on the site of the original Fort Louis, destroyed by the English in 1809.
From here, you can either go on the guided tour or explore the fort on your own. You will then stroll down to a shipyard in Marigot Bay to see how they build traditional boats, before heading for the centre of Bourg.
Before returning to your ship, you will have the opportunity to taste the famous "Tourment d'Amour", a small round tart with a soft coconut, banana, guava or cherry filling depending on the season, which originates from these islands. A tasting will be organised according to the staff availabilities.

From the pier, board your motorboat and start your scenic journey around the isles of les Saintes. The archipelago of les Saintes consists of nine islands spread between Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas main islands.
Head first to the Marigot bay, a place in Terre-de-Haut Island well-known by local fishermen, before going around to reach îlet à Cabrit and other islets.
Sailing along the southern coast of Terre-de-Haut Island, you will then reach the small uninhabited island of Grand Ilet, a paradise for tortoises and seabirds. Following a stop at La Coche, continue to Terre-de-Bas where you can see an old pottery workshop, as well as tortoises and pelicans who settled there.
Back to Terre-de-Haut, you will then sail to the Pain de Sucre (Sugar loaf), a geological formation caused by an ancient basalt flow. There, enjoy some free time for bathing, snorkelling and having a refreshment, before sailing back to the pier and your ship.

From the pier, you will board your coach and drive to Dow's Hill interpretation centre. This fort on the southern coast overlooking the Nelson's Dockyard, has been renovated into an interpretation centre. Once arriving, you will see a multimedia presentation on Antiguan culture and folklore.
You will continue to the Blockhouse Ruins, built in 1787 and standing 446ft above the sea atop a sheer cliff above the Atlantic Ocean. You will overlook Indian Creek where the first Arawak Indians settled and lived. You can also see the St. James' Club on Mamora Bay and Eric Clapton's new house.
Next, you will visit Shirley Heights, the most southerly viewpoint in Antigua. The Shirley Heights fortress was built by the British to house the fleet stationed at English Harbor and was named after Sir Thomas Shirley. From 487ft above sea level cape, you will enjoy a panoramic view on Atlantic Ocean and English Harbor.
Then, you will enjoy a guided walk, followed by free time at Nelson's Dockyard village. Named after Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, the village was built in 1725, to provide a base for a squadron of ships patrolling the West Indies maintaining England's sea power. Today it is one of the biggest attractions of the eastern Caribbean, being the world's last remaining Georgian naval dockyards still in use today.

From the pier, board your 4-wheel drive vehicle and start your adventure to discover places inaccessible by coach. You guide will explain Antigua’s history, its past and life nowadays.
This expedition will lead you to the western and southern sides of the island where you will have the opportunity to stop at several viewpoints and sites.
You will discover Potworks Dam, the largest reservoir on the island, and Bettys Hope, a historic sugarcane plantation.
You will drive through the picturesque village of Buckleys viewing the scenic valley, and travel through the Fig Tree drive, the home of Antigua’s "rain forest" observing the variety of tropical plants growing wild along the roadside.
Finally, you will go Morris Bay beach where you will enjoy a refreshment along with fresh fruit.

From the pier, board your boat and start sailing along the coast.
After a safety briefing, you will leave Gustavia's pier for "Les Ti-Saints" and its sheltered bay. You will discover different scenic panoramas of the island.
Once anchored in a bay, you will have some time to enjoy a swim in the warm waters of the bay or go snorkelling. An integral part of the Marine Reserve, the seabed near the rocks is particularly rich and colourful.
After enjoying your snorkeling time, followed by refreshments, you will re-board your boat and head back to the ship.

From the pier, board a taxi and take a short ride to the ATV parking lot. Upon arrival, you will fill the rental agreement and receive your equipment.
After the safety briefing, you will start your adventure by ATV. You will leave Gustavia and take the road above the harbour. The ride makes its way to Saint-Jean, where the airport lies, passing the famous “Col de la Tourmente” where you may come across a plane landing! Enjoy a first photo stop here.
Then, you will drive around the pond of Saint-Jean and climb up the hill that is overlooking Salines. Continuing via the valley of “Petite Salines”, you will arrive in “Grand Fond”, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and dominated by the “Morne Vitet”. This mountain, the highest on the island (286 m / 938 ft), offers beautiful scenery composed of a deep green valley and the blue and white of the raging ocean. Continue your drive along the water towards Toiny.
Finally, you will reach Lorient and its famous flowered cemetery, Saint-Jean and its sea resort style with shops and restaurants, and will make it back to Gustavia ATV’s parking lot. After check-out, you will walk back to the pier.

From the pier, you will board on an open-air safari bus for a short drive through the quaint village of Spanish Town to the Baths. These intimate beaches and giant boulders that form intricate grottos, caverns and sea pools are probably the most striking geological feature of the Caribbean.
Follow your guide on a winding foot path down to the beach to discover and explore this geological wonder. Explore sea caves formed by mammoth boulders, and bask in the shafts of sunlight pouring through the natural ceiling into the pools below. Listen to the theories on the origin of the boulders and curious names given to the rock formations. Swim, relax and enjoy the ambiance of this paradise.
Your tour continues to Spanish Town where a stop will is made at the Catholic Church before returning to your ship repositioned at Gorda Sound.

From the pier, board a sleek vessel and enjoy motor catamran across the channel towards Tortola. The vessel will anchor off one of the surrounding islands (Little Thatch) or at Smugglers Cove, where you can snorkel and swim.
Then its "aweigh anchor" and set navigate to Sandy Cay, a tiny islet completely surrounded by powdery white sand, azure blue waters and an underwater world filled with colourful marine life. This island was purchased by Nelson Rockefeller for the preservation of wild bird life. You can swim, snorkel or sun on a very private beach.
Your tour continues to the eastern tip of Jost van Dyke which returns you to the ship's anchorage.

Then, you will sail to Bird Cay, famous for the large number of species of birds which call this island home. American frigates, Pelicans and Vultures all live in harmony on this small cay.
Your tour will continue to the mysterious San Gabriel caves and here is where our tour breaks down in to two groups, one group will do the kayak part of the tour and the other group will visit the caves by foot.

Santo Domingo is the oldest capital of the New World. The old, walled city centre is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. This shore excursion will allow you to visit the most important monuments erected by the colonists.
From the pier, you will head to the colonial city centre. Your first visit will be made at the Ozama Fortress. Erected in front of the mouth of the Ozama River, the Santo Domingo Fortress, or Fortaleza Ozama Fortress, was the first military construction in the colony. The simple and solid construction, in a very medieval style, was built by the Spaniards between 1502 and 1507 at the request of the governor, Nicolás de Ovando.
Then, you will board your coach and start your drive to the Columbus Lighthouse. Columbus Lighthouse was built in 1986, in tribute of Christopher Columbus, using plans drawn by Scottish architect J.L. Gleave in 1931, in time for the 500th anniversary of the Discovery of the Americas by Europeans. The monument was inaugurated in 1992. From the lighthouse, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the sea and the city of Santo Domingo.
After your visit, you will proceed to the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor. Dedicated to Marie of the Incarnation, the Cathedral enjoys a golden-tinted coral limestone façade. The church combines elements of both Gothic and Baroque architecture, with some lavish plateresque styles, as exemplified by the high altar chiselled out of silver. There is also a treasury, which has an art collection of ancient woodcarvings, furnishings, funerary monuments, silver, and jewellery.

The park is a natural state reserve with over 1,000 hectares filled with a wide variety of flora, fauna, lagoon systems, white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and numerous sea fan gardens that extend throughout the reef. This natural paradise is filled with diversity of birds and animals, many of which are endemic to the island. There is also a scenic tower to observe crocodiles in their natural habitat and a museum light house with the most spectacular view.

From the pier, you will meet your guide to discover the secrets of Terre-de-Haut.
After a short walk, you will board a mini-bus and drive to the Vauban-style Fort Napoléon which overlooks ‘La Baie des Saintes’. It was built in the mid-1800's as a tribute to Napoleon III on the site of the original Fort Louis, destroyed by the English in 1809.
From here, you can either go on the guided tour or explore the fort on your own. You will then stroll down to a shipyard in Marigot Bay to see how they build traditional boats, before heading for the centre of Bourg.
Before returning to your ship, you will have the opportunity to taste the famous "Tourment d'Amour", a small round tart with a soft coconut, banana, guava or cherry filling depending on the season, which originates from these islands. From the pier, board your motorboat and start your scenic journey around the isles of les Saintes. The archipelago of les Saintes consists of nine islands spread between Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas main islands.
Head first to the Marigot bay, a place in Terre-de-Haut Island well-known by local fishermen, before going around to reach îlet à Cabrit and other islets.
Sailing along the southern coast of Terre-de-Haut Island, you will then reach the small uninhabited island of Grand Ilet, a paradise for tortoises and seabirds. Following a stop at La Coche, continue to Terre-de-Bas where you can see an old pottery workshop, as well as tortoises and pelicans who settled there.
Back to Terre-de-Haut, you will then sail to the Pain de Sucre (Sugar loaf), a geological formation caused by an ancient basalt flow. There, enjoy some free time for bathing, snorkelling and having a refreshment, before sailing back to the pier and your ship.

From the pier, you will board your coach and drive to Dow's Hill interpretation centre. This fort on the southern coast overlooking the Nelson's Dockyard, has been renovated into an interpretation centre. Once arriving, you will see a multimedia presentation on Antiguan culture and folklore.
You will continue to the Blockhouse Ruins, built in 1787 and standing 446ft above the sea atop a sheer cliff above the Atlantic Ocean. You will overlook Indian Creek where the first Arawak Indians settled and lived. You can also see the St. James' Club on Mamora Bay and Eric Clapton's new house.
Next, you will visit Shirley Heights, the most southerly viewpoint in Antigua. The Shirley Heights fortress was built by the British to house the fleet stationed at English Harbor and was named after Sir Thomas Shirley. From 487ft above sea level cape, you will enjoy a panoramic view on Atlantic Ocean and English Harbor.
Then, you will enjoy a guided walk, followed by free time at Nelson's Dockyard village. Named after Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, the village was built in 1725, to provide a base for a squadron of ships patrolling the West Indies maintaining England's sea power. From the pier, board a taxi and take a short ride to the ATV parking lot. Upon arrival, you will fill the rental agreement and receive your equipment.
After the safety briefing, you will start your adventure by ATV. You will leave Gustavia and take the road above the harbour. The ride makes its way to Saint-Jean, where the airport lies, passing the famous “Col de la Tourmente” where you may come across a plane landing! Enjoy a first photo stop here.
Then, you will drive around the pond of Saint-Jean and climb up the hill that is overlooking Salines. Continuing via the valley of “Petite Salines”, you will arrive in “Grand Fond”, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and dominated by the “Morne Vitet”. This mountain, the highest on the island (286 m / 938 ft), offers beautiful scenery composed of a deep green valley and the blue and white of the raging ocean. Continue your drive along the water towards Toiny.

From the pier, you will board on an open-air safari bus for a short drive through the quaint village of Spanish Town to the Baths. These intimate beaches and giant boulders that form intricate grottos, caverns and sea pools are probably the most striking geological feature of the Caribbean.
Follow your guide on a winding foot path down to the beach to discover and explore this geological wonder. Explore sea caves formed by mammoth boulders, and bask in the shafts of sunlight pouring through the natural ceiling into the pools below.
