You will journey onward to El Hierro, the smallest of the Canary Islands. Among other activities, in this peaceful and tranquil haven scattered with volcanic desert and forests of pine and laurel, you will be able to enjoy these vast, untouched, lush spaces during a discovery tour of the island on an electric bike.
Le Dumont-d’Urville will then drop anchor at La Gomera. This tiny island with lush vegetation is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its biosphere reserve. This island is also renowned for its whistling language, Silbo, that the inhabitants use to communicate from one valley to another.
Finally, you will visit Las Palmas, on Gran Canaria Island, the final port of call on your Canarian cruise.

During the past 20 years Fuerteventura has been famous for its 72 km of sandy beaches – over the past few years this has changed. More and more people are now discovering the island’s excellent conditions for nature walks, especially during the winter season, when the mountain range of Betancuria can turn into a green oasis full of flowers. Just as Betancuria was the very first capital of the Canary Islands, the mountains of this area are the oldest of the whole archipelago! The plutonic rocks are a fascinating theme to this walk.
Board your coach and drive to Vega de Rio Palma to begin the first part of your hike. Those, who are interested, can see the Virgen de la Peña, the islands patron in the church nearby.
Later, you will pass a former water reservoir which today is a nature reserve where there’s the chance to see eagles and maybe one of the last surviving Canarian vultures. Endemic plants, unique geological formations and the fact that in this gorge the sculpture of the island’s saint was rediscovered, make this walk one of the most important of the island. The tour ends in a fishing village on the west coast – Ajuy (sea level). It was one of the very first harbours in the history of Fuerteventura and it’s a ‘mecca’ for geologists from all over the world. Recently, the old limestone furnaces have been restored; there is an access to the caves, a fascinating protected beach and several typical local bars where you can relax.
After this adventure, you will reboard your coach and drive back to your ship.

The museum is also home to the original Antigua Windmill, found in perfect working condition. Don´t miss the chance to enjoy the cactus garden, a green treasure with species which only grow on this island as well as other species from all over the world.
Continue to La Gayria Eco Museum. La Gayría is a rural estate of 55,000 square meters, which in the 18th century was a manor house with traditional stone architecture, around a central patio protected from the wind, which today is an open-air museum of unique implements and ustensils. In the center of the island and with views of the last volcano of Gayría, today it is a farm where you can enjoy simple experiences, garden products, get to know the local production, and in a special way the nature of Fuerteventura.

On this trip, you will visit a picturesque fishing village, the historic town of Betancuria, and explore the pirate cave of Ajuy.
Together with your guide, you will leave the port in your bus for a journey through the unique landscapes of Fuerteventura, to Ajuy.
This pretty, peaceful village is located on the west coast of Fuerteventura. It's a must-see when visiting the island. This local village, untouched by time, offers spectacular sea views and a relaxing black sand beach, framed by high cliffs on either side, contrasting with its white houses.
From the village, you can stroll along the coastal path, which runs along the cliffs to the spectacular Ajuy caves - one of Fuerteventura's highlights. Stairs take you down to explore the caves from the inside. You will be amazed by the contrast between the blue waters and the black rocks.
You will then leave Ajuy for Betancuria, the island's first capital, where you will enjoy a short, guided tour and free time to wander the streets featuring traditional Canarian architecture. Betancuria was founded in the 15th century by the Frenchman Jean de Bethencourt. Admire the town's main building, the cathedral-church of Santa Maria de Betancuria, as well as the hermitage of San Diego and the convent church. Do not miss the view of the impressive mountain ranges surrounding the town.

From the pier, embark your coach for a one-hour scenic drive to the picturesque village of Haria, known as the “valley of a thousand palms”. Surrounded by lush green fields and colourful meadows, you can admire whitewashed houses, shady palms, and tropical flowers line its narrow streets.
You will then continue to Mirador del Rio, Lanzarote's most famous viewpoint. This former gun emplacement has been converted in 1973 by local artiste Cesar Manrique into a recreational and ecological location. From the balustraded café or the vantage point of the balcony, you will have some of the most breath-taking views in the entire archipelago. Standing 500 metres above sea level, you can see the entire northern coastline, the straits of El Rio and Las Salinas del Rio, the island's oldest salt plains which have been used since Roman times.
Next, you will reboard your coach and travel to Los Jameos del Agua. This massive open-air cavern is part of a long volcanic tunnel that was formed 3,000 years ago by molten lava. Due to gasses pression, the tunnel collapsed in some parts creating large openings. In 1968, Manrique had the idea to turn these openings into a tropical garden with a pool, a bar and a 600-seat auditorium.
Upon arrival, you will climb down a stone staircase into the first cave known as Jameo Chico. You will continue along a pathway crossing a lake filled with tiny albino crabs, a rare and delicate marine crustacean. Following the footpath, you will reach Jameo Grande, a huge open-air cave lined with tropical plants and a turquoise pool.
After visiting the auditorium, you will reboard your coach and get back to your ship.

From the pier, you will board your coach and start your journey at National Park Timanfaya and the famous Fire Mountains of Lanzarote.
Upon arrival, you will enjoy a guided tour of the park. The park’s lack of wildlife creates a surprising air of calm and silence. It´s hard to imagine what a volcanic eruption would be like, but the land is still bubbling beneath the surface and the craters and the active volcanoes will amaze you. Islote de Hilario is one of the most original islets, or kipukas, in the Canary Islands, and it stands out from other islets because it is covered by the pyroclasts of the Timanfaya eruption of 1730-1736. However, the main characteristic of this geological attraction is the presence of thermal anomalies. This area registers the highest thermal anomalies in the Canary Islands. Then, you will attend geothermal demonstrations and will gain an appreciation for the power of the active volcanoes under your feet.
After admiring this astonishing natural beauty of the national park, you will appreciate the El Golfo viewpoint overlooking El Charco de los Clicos, a green lake formed by a volcanic crater and located in the middle of a black sand beach.
The journey back to the pier passes by the beautiful Vineyards of La Geria, where of course you will have the chance to taste typical Lanzarote wine. This wine producing area is a few miles inland; the wall of volcanic rock divides the apparently barren field but, within these walls, the wine flourish under a layer of Picón (porous lava granules which absorb the dew at night and provide constant moisture to the plants).

César Manrique, the renowned Spanish artist, architect, and environmentalist, was definitely the most important artist to hail from the Canary Islands. He got popular as painter, sculptor, architect, gardener and outdoor designer. He was also as passionate defender of the environment. Thanks to his everlasting work, the coasts of Lanzarote stayed clear, hotel buildings were kept reduced, and the characteristics of villages and landscapes remain authentic.
Meet your guide, board your coach and drive to the César Manrique Foundation, or Fundación Cesar Manrique (FCM). It is a cultural institution and was established in 1982 by Cesar Manrique,
The foundation aims to preserve and promote the artistic and cultural legacy of the artist, as well as to foster the conservation and sustainable development of the island of Lanzarote. Manrique was deeply connected to Lanzarote and played a significant role in shaping the island's identity and protecting its natural beauty.
The Foundation is housed in Manrique's former residence. The building itself is an architectural masterpiece, blending harmoniously with the surrounding volcanic landscape. It integrates natural volcanic bubbles and caves into its design, showcasing Manrique's philosophy of merging art with nature.
The rooms are filled with his paintings, sculptures, and personal objects, offering a glimpse into his creative process and inspirations.
One of Manrique's most significant contributions to Lanzarote was his emphasis on preserving the island's natural beauty and promoting sustainable development. He advocated for responsible tourism, highlighting the importance of maintaining a balance between economic growth and environmental conservation.
Then, you will re-board your coach and head to the Cactus Garden which is a perfect example of how to combine Architecture with the environment without destruction. Manrique createdthis brave monument maintaining the connection between Art and nature, which is reflected in all his creations. The Cactus Garden, also known as Jardín de Cactus. It is a tribute to the island's unique landscape.
The Cactus Garden was inaugurated in 1990 and is built within an old quarry, showcasing Manrique's ability to integrate art and nature. The garden features over 1,400 species of cacti from different parts of the world, creating a stunning display of shapes, sizes, and colors.
The garden is designed in a circular shape, with terraced levels that blend harmoniously with the surrounding volcanic environment. Manrique incorporated various elements into the garden's design, including stone walls, paths, and seating areas, all carefully crafted to complement the cacti.
At the centre of the garden stands a restored windmill, which adds to the unique ambiance and serves as a symbol of Lanzarote's agricultural past. The windmill has been converted into a small museum that provides information about the history and cultivation of cacti on the island.
The garden's terraced layout offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, allowing visitors to appreciate both the natural beauty of the plants and the volcanic landscapes that define Lanzarote.
Enjoy a refreshment at the café amidst the peaceful setting, before heading back to the port and you ship.

It is the largest lava tube in the European Union. The cave is an enormous labyrinthine network of underground passages. Longer lava tubes can only be found in Hawaii.
On your arrival at the Cueva del Viento - Sobrado district, you will first be given a presentation at the visitor centre. Here, you will learn how this unique labyrinth on three different levels was formed 27,000 years ago by lava from the first eruptive phase of the Pico Viejo volcano, at the foot of Mount Teide.
After this introduction, you will be equipped with a helmet, a cold-light lamp and the battery needed to explore the cave. You will be taken to El Viradero, where you will begin your walk through an impressive landscape to reach "Boca del Sobrado", the entrance to the day's adventure. To respect the cave's unique environment and ecosystem, entry is controlled and restricted, which is why the group is limited to a restricted number of participants.
Together with your expert local guide, you will explore the tunnel, which features a wide variety of structures, such as lava stalactites, lava waterfalls, side terraces and lava lakes, among others, as well as exogenous concretions with different compositions. The cave boasts a rich fauna, with a large number of common species.
After this unique underground experience, you will return to daylight and take your bus back to your ship at the port of Los Cristianos.

On September 19, 2021, a new volcanic crater formed in La Palma. The volcano, previously known as Cumbre Vieja, erupted, completely changing the landscape west of the city and creating the new volcano Tagojaite.
Tajogaite is the name given to an area of the island of La Palma belonging to the municipality of El Paso and located south of Los Romanciaderos, near the Montaña Rajada. The toponym appears frequently from the eighteenth century onwards in local documents related to land ownership, but its use dates back to the time when the Benahoarites inhabited the island.
Hiking on the newly named Tajogaite - cracked mountain - you will almost reach the crater, walking along black ash paths lined with Canary pines.
From there, impressive views of the lava flows and the Aridane Valley await you.
Once back on the bus, you will go to the Mirador de Tajuya to enjoy more amazing views of the volcano and lava flows, before returning to Santa Cruz.

Welcome to La Palma, the greenest of the Canary Islands. It offers the chance to experience authentic, unspoilt nature.
From the port, your bus will take you to the northeast of La Palma, the area that best illustrates what this beautiful island has to offer: mountains, trails, lava, ocean and verdant landscapes.
After passing through vineyards, vegetable, fruit and banana plantations, you will arrive at a local eco-finca in the middle of a lush landscape, hidden from passing tourists. Stop, breathe and listen to the whisper of the breeze coming down through the vast ravine and blowing between the leaves of the banana trees. Feel the sound of the waves crashing on the beach, the call of the birds and enjoy the ocean view from the natural balcony.
You will be greeted by a local employee who, along with your guide, will share their expertise in growing exotic subtropical fruit and exquisite vegetables with you.
You will wonder whether you are in Spain or somewhere lost in South America: avocados, mangoes, bananas, etc. are just some of the fruits grown 100% ecologically. You will taste the seasonal produce and then follow up with a cooking demonstration. You will see these fruits and vegetables put to use in recipes you would never have imagined.
Finally, you will say goodbye to your hosts for the day, rejoin your bus and return to the dock and your ship.

A beautiful species found nowhere else (associated with water), it became a sacred tree and has remained one of the island's symbols.

Enjoy an introduction to Fuerteventura, including the Cheese museum in Antigua, La Gayria Eco Museum, the Goat Farm and the Aloe Vera Finca in Tiscaminita.
The tour departs from the pier in Puerto del Rosario, board your coach and start your tour heading towards the Cheese Museum in Antigua, where you will discover the island through its rich cheese making tradition, with honey rhum. During the visit you will have a chance to sample some of the goats cheese yourself. The museum has various areas to discover. You will find out about the islands volcanic origins, its fauna and flora, the Majorera goats and their famous cheese, all organised around a central patio.
You will taste some of the local products before heading to your next stop, the Aloe Vera Finca.
Thanks to its volcanic soils, the Canary Islands are an ideal environment for the cultivation of aloe. At the finca, you will have an introduction as well as a demonstration of the plant’s formation and healing properties. You will also have the opportunity to sample the products or simply make the most of the area and its amazing surrondings, offering great views.
Your last stop will be La Casa del Queso, a goat farm, with Majorara goats for a visit and a tasting of some more delicious local products.

During this shore excursion, enjoy panoramic views and the mystery of La Laguna Grande, situated in the lush Laurisilva Forest in Garajonay National Park!
Leaving San Sebastian, the capital of the island, you will head north to the first viewpoint, Mirador El Rejo, which offers fabulous views over the Hermigua Valley and the neighbouring island of Tenerife, with its impressive Mount Teide.
The tour will continue towards the centre of the island, and you will reach the Laurisilva Forest in Garajonay National Park. It is a subtropical forest, found in areas with high humidity and relatively stable and mild temperatures. The hardwood trees are characterized by evergreen, glossy leaves, reaching up to 20 m in height. Many of the species are endemic to the island, which offers a rich biota of undergrowth plants, invertebrates, birds and bats.
At Laguna Grande you will have the opportunity to enjoy the enchantment of this unique forest. Upon your arrival at Chipude, you will able to enjoy refreshments at the bar.
The tour will continues southwards, and next stop will be at Agando, for a glimpse of the magnificent landscape of basalt formations of volcanic origin, such as Roques de Agando Ojiva.
During the drive back to ship, passing by La Degollada de Peraza, you will enjoy the marvellous views all around you.

From San Sebastian, the island’s capital, you will visit Gomera’s most interesting sights.
First, you will head north to the agricultural valley of Hermigua, famous for its banana plantations, where a local ecologic finca is located. Here, you will have the chance to walk through the small botanical garden, with a wide range of floral diversity.
One of its main attractions are the “palmeras guaraperas”, (the Canarian Palm Tree), which produce the famous palm honey. You absolutely must tast this sweet treat! After that, a local artisan will show you how he crafts (by hand) the baskets, using banana leaves, vines and reeds.
Round off your visit to the finca facilities with a tasting of the main dishes and products in La Gomera: gofio and cheese, washed down with a local wine.
Next, you will admire the breathtaking views at the Mirador de Agulo. Surrounded by a massive basalt wall almost 500 meters high, you might even see the nearby island of Tenerife.
On your way to Laguna Grande, you will make a short stop at the Vallehermoso viewpoint, which literally means "beautiful Valley". You will immediately realize the reason it was bestowed such a name.
The tour will continue southwards, and the next stop will be at Los Roques, for a glimpse of the magnificent landscape of basalt formations of volcanic origin such as Roque de Agando. You will then make your way back to the ship.
