The Caribbean. The mere mention of this vast archipelago conjures images of waves dancing along the shoreline, lapping against long beaches lined with elegant palm trees. During this unforgettable 8-day cruise, spend your time contemplating and exploring aboard PONANT’s emblematic yacht.
You will move away from the lively shores of Philipsburg and sail under wind power towards the Anguilla archipelago, a little-known jewel where you will be able to reconnect both with yourself and the surrounding elements. The two small uninhabited islands of Prickly Pear Cays, separated by a narrow channel and surrounded by rocky protrusions, are heaven for divers and birds. The island is also home to Lesser Antillean iguanas.
You will set sail again, for Saint Barthélemy, a small island in the Tropics offering an exceptional and windswept stretch of water. Sailing is synonymous with pleasure in these warm waters, even when the sea spray makes it onto the deck.
Le Ponant will set sail towards Saint Kitts and Nevis. Thanks to the perfect conditions, sailing here is a delight for all the senses. Lying on the deck, you will let the wind and the sunshine caress your skin, while the crew sail the mainsail. In Charlestown, on the island of Nevis, you will discover the port facilities built by Admiral Nelson. You will also be able to visit the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of the United States, as well as St John’s Fig Tree Church, which houses the original marriage certificate of Lord Horatio Nelson and Fanny Nisbet. Nevis also has a very beautiful botanical garden.
You will find Admiral Nelson’s works in Nelson's Dockyard, in Falmouth Harbour. This is also where his former residence may be found.
You will reach Barbuda, where you will be able to relax on beaches of white and pink sand bathing in crystal-clear water and observe the many seabirds, particularly the magnificent frigatebirds.
Soon, deeply breathing in the air on the deck of the three-mast yacht, you will be enchanted by the infinite palette of blues in the Caribbean Sea. On Marie-Galante, the final port of call of your cruise, you will enjoy practically deserted beaches and be immersed in an authentic and agricultural atmosphere focused on growing sugar cane. PRECAUTIONS:
In your hand luggage, remember to bring any medicines that you need, and possibly a small spare bag of toiletries (in case of delay in the delivery of your baggage by the airline). Remember to always have your travel documents with you in case you need them: hotel vouchers, cruise vouchers, return flight tickets... Never leave them in your hold luggage.
All our cabins have a safe. We recommend not to go ashore with valuable jewellery.

Diving & initiation dive
Supervision of the dives
Your dives will be led by your PONANT instructor. He will take care of your safety and that all goes smoothly. On some diving sites, as in natural reserves or if the local regulations require it, a local guide will escort the diving.
Level required for scuba diving on this cruise
The minimum level required for scuba diving on this cruise is 1 star CMAS or the PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent). The certification card, the diving log book and a recent medical certificate (less than 12 months) must be presented at the beginning of the cruise to our main diving instructor.
Process of the dives (certified divers)
The instructor reserves the right to check divers’ ability for maximum safety. As we will dive in remote places, the dives will be done without decompression stop. A safety stop of 3 minutes at 5 metres will be mandatory. The depth that can be reached will depend on the certification of the divers:
- For those with PADI Open Water Diver certificate (or equivalent), the maximum depth can be up to 20 metres.
- If two Stars CMAS or PADI Advanced Open Water Divers (or equivalent) wish to dive together independently, they must have a briefing first. They must have dive computers and are allowed to go to a maximum depth of 20 metres.
Process of the initiation dives (novice divers)
Before your initiation dive, your instructor will show you the equipment and will explain to you how to communicate underwater using hand gestures and how to breathe through a regulator. Once in the water, equipped with your material, you will learn how to breathe through your regulator on the surface for a couple of minutes. When your instructor feels you are ready, he will immerse you in water for about 20 minutes to a depth of 6 metres maximum.
Duration of the dives
The diving activity lasts from 2 to 3 hours, which includes the journey to the diving site and the diving. This duration may vary according to the site, the level of divers, weather conditions and the number of participants. For experienced divers, the duration of dives varies between 35 and 60 minutes depending on the site, the diver’s experience and consumption.

The capital of the Dutch part of Saint-Martin, in the south of the island, Philipsburg is bordered by a 3-km (1.9-mile) long expanse of sand. Following a stroll along Front Street and Back Street, the lively streets edged with houses with colourful facades, take a break on a lounger opposite the calm and turquoise sea of Great Bay. Sint Maarten Museum will immerse you in the past of the Arawaks, an indigenous people of the West Indies. You will also be able to admire the view from Fort Amsterdam, the first fort constructed by the Dutch in the 17th century.

Located 5 miles north of Anguilla, the twin islands of Prickly Pear East and West are separated by a narrow channel. Prickly Pear East consists of a huge white sandy beach and rocky outcrops offering excellent snorkelling possibilities. Behind the main beach, there is a small pool where the black-necked stilt comes to feed. The harder-to-access Prickly Pear West has a small beach of low limestone cliffs dotted with bushes. The waters surrounding the cays of Prickly Pear are protected by the Anguilla Marine Park. Green and Hawksbill sea turtles, endangered species, nest on these beaches. The island is also home to an indigenous iguana population as well as a colony of Anguilla laughing gulls. As you sail around Prickly Pear West, it will be easy to observe many birds along the cliffs, including red-billed tropicbirds, brown noddies, brown boobies and little terns. This is also where the only colony of brown pelicans nesting in Anguilla can be found: it is a species of regional importance.

Located to the south of the island of Antigua and Barbuda, Falmouth Bay is home to a marina that is the perfect starting point for visiting Nelson’s Dockyard, where the former naval base and former home of the British Admiral Horatio Nelson can be found. This village was built in 1725 to act as a base for the squadrons of ships that used to patrol the waters of the West Indies to ensure British naval supremacy. It is the last naval dockyard of the Georgian period to be so well preserved and still active. This UNESCO World Heritage Site includes a collection of buildings and port facilities surrounded by a fortified compound.

During your port of call in Barbuda, an island influenced by British culture in the north of the Lesser Antilles, you’ll discover idyllic beaches of white powder-like sand bathed by turquoise waters of striking intensity. From the pier, you will meet Ernest, your guide and driver for this exclusive journey through Saint Barthelemy's history.
Ernest is a local descendant of the first French settlers arrived on the island, aboard his mini van, he will drive around the island and perform several stops along the way so you can enjoy the scenery and listen to his comments on the island life and history. Amongst others, you will discover Shell Beach and its lighthouse, the Tourment pass, Colombier and Grand Fond viewpoints, Saline beach.
Last but not least, you will make a longer stop at Domaine Félicité, a mirror to the 17th century. You will discover traditional huts and a magnificient botanical garden, restored after a titanic work from brother and sister, Alain and Arlette Magras. Their aim is to share and perpetuate the memory of Saint Barth. Your visit will be filled with family anecdotes. An emotional sequence full of confidences and nostalgic touches awaits you. From the pier, board your boat and start sailing along the coast.
After a safety briefing, you will leave Gustavia's pier for "Les Ti-Saints" and its sheltered bay. You will discover different scenic panoramas of the island.
Once anchored in a bay, you will have some time to enjoy a swim in the warm waters of the bay or go snorkelling. An integral part of the Marine Reserve, the seabed near the rocks is particularly rich and colourful.
After enjoying your snorkeling time, followed by refreshments, you will re-board your boat and head back to the ship.

Lush nature and azure lagoons make Nevis a picture-postcard island. Behind this fabulous decor, in the heritage houses and along the narrow streets, lies a rich history that can be discovered in Charlestown’s museums.
Famous for having been one of the founding fathers of the United States and the country’s very first treasurer, Alexander Hamilton lived in Charlestown until the age of nine. His birthplace, now converted into the Museum of Nevis History, also houses the Nevis Island Assembly. During a visit, discover this emblematic site and the island’s fascinating past.
A stone’s thrown away, the historical Bath Hotel awaits you. Built in 1778, at the time it welcomed members of high society, including Lord Nelson, Samuel Taylor and Prince William Henry, who travelled to Nevis to bathe in the healing waters of the hot springs.
After visiting the Nevis Artisan Village, where local arts and crafts are made and sold, you will have the opportunity to admire the beautiful St Thomas Anglican Church. Built on a hillside in 1643, it offers unrivalled views of the neighbouring islands.
You will then go through several sleepy villages to reach the botanical gardens. Covering eight hectares and offering the most diverse tropical scenery in St Kitts and Nevis, these gardens offer the opportunity to admire magnificent plants collected from tropical regions around the world and explore fascinating sections such as the cactus garden, a bamboo grove, water lily ponds, and orchid and tropical fruit gardens. A spectacular glass conservatory also houses tropical rainforest plants and a vast Mayan-style temple with waterfalls, ponds and brooks.

Smaller and less well-known than its neighbour Antigua, Barbuda offers nature lovers and bird enthusiasts a fairly rare sight: one of the largest frigatebird colonies in the northern hemisphere, in a preserved lagoon. Further along the coast, surprising caves hold the island’s secrets.
Discover one of the finest colonies of superb frigatebirds, north of Codrington, in a sublime lagoon only accessible by boat. On the water and accompanied by local guides, you will enter the mangrove, learn more about these rare birds and make the most of the fine show being put on in this natural sanctuary.
Further east; after crossing the town of Codrington, the small caves and large chasms of Two Foot Bay invite you to explore them. Between the stalactites and stalagmites, sometimes punctuated by fossils, an incredible landscape is unveiled.

From the pier, board your motorboat and start your scenic journey around the isles of les Saintes. The archipelago of les Saintes consists of nine islands spread between Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas main islands.
Head first to the Marigot bay, a place in Terre-de-Haut Island well-known by local fishermen, before going around to reach îlet à Cabrit and other islets.
Sailing along the southern coast of Terre-de-Haut Island, you will then reach the small uninhabited island of Grand Ilet, a paradise for tortoises and seabirds. Following a stop at La Coche, continue to Terre-de-Bas where you can see an old pottery workshop, as well as turtles and pelicans who settled there.
Back to Terre-de-Haut, you will then sail to the Pain de Sucre (Sugar loaf), a geological formation caused by an ancient basalt flow. There, enjoy some free time for bathing, snorkelling and having a refreshment, before sailing back to the pier and your ship.
- This tour involves very limited walking. We recommend you wear comfortable nonslip shoes, have your swimsuit under your clothes, take a towel and a bottle of water from the ship, and protect yourself from the sun. Mask and snorkel will be provided. Refreshments are included in the tour. The motorboat is equipped with removable roof and a ladder, but no toilets. Visit the Rhum Bielle distillery, an authentic agricultural rum distillery on Marie-Galante. The distillery has been making exceptional rums with pure cane juice since 1910, using sugar cane grown on the island. You will take a guided tour of the distillery and discover the manufacturing process from start to finish before enjoying a tasting on site.

Discover cultural heritage during this excursion, as you visit an aromatic and medicinal herb garden and take part in a workshop.
The specific feature of the Creole garden is how it summarises all the major migrations experienced by the French West Indies. The Ciboney, followed by the Arawak and the Caribs, brought plants such as dittany and achiote from South America. The end of the 15th century saw the arrival of the Europeans, including the French who settled permanently in the 17th century. During the slavery period, the slaves cultivated small plots bringing together a wide variety of crops. This was the ancestor of the Creole garden, which is primarily a model of organised polyculture.

Set off to discover Marie-Galante during a guided tour of the island, take part in a workshop exploring natural plant dyeing techniques at the Maison de l’Indigo, and enjoy refreshments during this creative excursion.
On Guadeloupean territory, your excursion will begin with a visit of the charming island of Marie-Galante and its main points of interest. It will then be time to discover the Maison de l’Indigo, with its project that aims to showcase the Caribbean plants that can be used for dyes. To do this, the Maison helps to conserve the colouring-plant species of Guadeloupe and the Lesser Antilles, shares its knowledge in workshops teaching natural plant dyeing techniques, and makes and sells fashion accessories, among other activities. Following your creative workshop in natural plant dyeing techniques, you will be able to socialise during refreshments before the end of your activity.

Diving
During an introduction to scuba diving or a more advanced dive for holders of the necessary certifications (level 1 on yachting cruises and 2 on expedition cruises), explore the planet’s most beautiful underwater environments in the company of a PONANT diving instructor, as well as a local instructor when required by local legislation. They will ensure that your dives are conducted smoothly and safely: supervision of four certified divers at a time, evaluation of diving skills and experience, adherence to safety stops, zones and the maximum depth authorised.
A recent medical certificate (less than 12 months) must be presented at the beginning of the cruise to the main diving instructor.

From the pier, you will meet Ernest, your guide and driver for this exclusive journey through Saint Barthelemy's history.
Ernest is a local descendant of the first French settlers arrived on the island, aboard his mini van, he will drive around the island and perform several stops along the way so you can enjoy the scenery and listen to his comments on the island life and history. Amongst others, you will discover Shell Beach and its lighthouse, the Tourment pass, Colombier and Grand Fond viewpoints, Saline beach.
Last but not least, you will make a longer stop at Domaine Félicité, a mirror to the 17th century. You will discover traditional huts and a magnificient botanical garden, restored after a titanic work from brother and sister, Alain and Arlette Magras. Their aim is to share and perpetuate the memory of Saint Barth. Your visit will be filled with family anecdotes. An emotional sequence full of confidences and nostalgic touches awaits you. From the pier, board your boat and start sailing along the coast.
After a safety briefing, you will leave Gustavia's pier for "Les Ti-Saints" and its sheltered bay. You will discover different scenic panoramas of the island.
Once anchored in a bay, you will have some time to enjoy a swim in the warm waters of the bay or go snorkelling. An integral part of the Marine Reserve, the seabed near the rocks is particularly rich and colourful.
After enjoying your snorkeling time, followed by refreshments, you will re-board your boat and head back to the ship.

Famous for having been one of the founding fathers of the United States and the country’s very first treasurer, Alexander Hamilton lived in Charlestown until the age of nine. His birthplace, now converted into the Museum of Nevis History, also houses the Nevis Island Assembly. During a visit, discover this emblematic site and the island’s fascinating past.
A stone’s thrown away, the historical Bath Hotel awaits you. Built in 1778, at the time it welcomed members of high society, including Lord Nelson, Samuel Taylor and Prince William Henry, who travelled to Nevis to bathe in the healing waters of the hot springs.
After visiting the Nevis Artisan Village, where local arts and crafts are made and sold, you will have the opportunity to admire the beautiful St Thomas Anglican Church. Built on a hillside in 1643, it offers unrivalled views of the neighbouring islands.
You will then go through several sleepy villages to reach the botanical gardens. Covering eight hectares and offering the most diverse tropical scenery in St Kitts and Nevis, these gardens offer the opportunity to admire magnificent plants collected from tropical regions around the world and explore fascinating sections such as the cactus garden, a bamboo grove, water lily ponds, and orchid and tropical fruit gardens. A spectacular glass conservatory also houses tropical rainforest plants and a vast Mayan-style temple with waterfalls, ponds and brooks.

Smaller and less well-known than its neighbour Antigua, Barbuda offers nature lovers and bird enthusiasts a fairly rare sight: one of the largest frigatebird colonies in the northern hemisphere, in a preserved lagoon. Further along the coast, surprising caves hold the island’s secrets.
Discover one of the finest colonies of superb frigatebirds, north of Codrington, in a sublime lagoon only accessible by boat. On the water and accompanied by local guides, you will enter the mangrove, learn more about these rare birds and make the most of the fine show being put on in this natural sanctuary.
Further east; after crossing the town of Codrington, the small caves and large chasms of Two Foot Bay invite you to explore them. Between the stalactites and stalagmites, sometimes punctuated by fossils, an incredible landscape is unveiled.

From the pier, board your motorboat and start your scenic journey around the isles of les Saintes. The archipelago of les Saintes consists of nine islands spread between Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas main islands.
Head first to the Marigot bay, a place in Terre-de-Haut Island well-known by local fishermen, before going around to reach îlet à Cabrit and other islets.
Sailing along the southern coast of Terre-de-Haut Island, you will then reach the small uninhabited island of Grand Ilet, a paradise for tortoises and seabirds. Following a stop at La Coche, continue to Terre-de-Bas where you can see an old pottery workshop, as well as turtles and pelicans who settled there.
Back to Terre-de-Haut, you will then sail to the Pain de Sucre (Sugar loaf), a geological formation caused by an ancient basalt flow. There, enjoy some free time for bathing, snorkelling and having a refreshment, before sailing back to the pier and your ship.

Discover cultural heritage during this excursion, as you visit an aromatic and medicinal herb garden and take part in a workshop.
The specific feature of the Creole garden is how it summarises all the major migrations experienced by the French West Indies. The Ciboney, followed by the Arawak and the Caribs, brought plants such as dittany and achiote from South America. The end of the 15th century saw the arrival of the Europeans, including the French who settled permanently in the 17th century. During the slavery period, the slaves cultivated small plots bringing together a wide variety of crops. This was the ancestor of the Creole garden, which is primarily a model of organised polyculture.

Set off to discover Marie-Galante during a guided tour of the island, take part in a workshop exploring natural plant dyeing techniques at the Maison de l’Indigo, and enjoy refreshments during this creative excursion.
On Guadeloupean territory, your excursion will begin with a visit of the charming island of Marie-Galante and its main points of interest. It will then be time to discover the Maison de l’Indigo, with its project that aims to showcase the Caribbean plants that can be used for dyes. To do this, the Maison helps to conserve the colouring-plant species of Guadeloupe and the Lesser Antilles, shares its knowledge in workshops teaching natural plant dyeing techniques, and makes and sells fashion accessories, among other activities. Following your creative workshop in natural plant dyeing techniques, you will be able to socialise during refreshments before the end of your activity.

Pointe-à-PitreOnce you have completed your disembarkation formalities, you will leave the port in a coach to head to the Valombreuse Botanical Gardens. Between sea, reliefs and rivers, the island of Basse-Terre offers magnificent scenery and sites. After a brief tour, you will discover the tropical forest, in the town of Petit Bourg. From there, you will explore the Valombreuse Botanical Gardens, created in 1989 by Magguy Chaulet. Whether you stroll along the paths or use the little train, you will take the time to discover its collection of exceptional endemic plants: orchids, ferns, red and white flowering ginger, red ginger lilies, 300-year old trees, and so on.
You will then continue inland on the island of Basse-Terre, to go north, more precisely to Lamentin.
In a corner of vegetation, the Green Lord Domaine will open its doors to you for a Creole gastronomic experience exclusively dedicated to Ponant guests.
Enjoy tasting the Creole cuisine of Chef Gilda, inspired not only by Creole heritage but also by flavours from around the world. The dishes are built around local fishing and agriculture, as well as spices from all over the planet.
