The Adriatic coast offers an ever-changing backdrop of colours that are constantly evolving, along with magical ports of call (Split! Dubrovnik! Kotor!), memories of stories of all the romantic travellers who have graced these idyllic places. In their honour, we will share a musical programme ranging from the evocations of France’s most romantic pianist, Jean-Marc Luisada, the man whose Schubert touches the stars of the heart, and those, just as inspired, who François Chaplin lovingly performs with a Chopin so intimate and clear. And Chopin’s all too rare pieces for the cello will be another expression of this romanticism. And this Adriatic coast, which runs along Croatia, looks across towards Italy, the home of the bel canto repertoire of songs which resonate as far as this beautiful ship taking us into a dream world. Obviously, we must hear bel canto on a route like this one. Borne along by the poetic piano of Antoine Palloc, accompanist to the stars, the sublime soprano Jeanne Gérard and virtuoso tenor, Julien Dran, we will be immersed in these melodies as they soar away into Adriatic skies.

Yet, secret Venice is also waiting for you to explore its little interlacing streets and canals, to ramble through its squares and to push open the doors of its churches. The city’s extraordinary heritage shouldn’t stop you from enjoying a glass of Spritz and a few tramezzini.

This harbour town has a very special location, presiding on a spur on the north-eastern coast of the island of Korçula. The ramparts in its medieval district provide perfect vantage points over the Pelješac peninsula. To get there, you can take the monumental staircase in the Revelin Tower. Another way is to climb the steps in the shade of palm trees from the MorskaVrata (Marine portal). As you make your way through the little streets, you’ll see the bell-tower of Saint Mark’s cathedral rise above you. This landmark will help you locate the house where Marco Polo was born. The island also has some of its own famous wines like the red Plavac and the white Posip.

Departure 12/6/2022 early morning
When your ship drops anchor across from the Croatian village of Sibenik, in the heart of Central Dalmatia, you will have the possibility of discovering the exceptional Krka Waterfalls. Krka National Park, with its eight waterfalls formed by calcium carbonate deposited by the water as it flows along the Krka river, is one of the most spectacular in Croatia. On the Dalmatian coast, the town of Split offers cultural visits in a seaside atmosphere. Here you will explore its galleries, courtyards with carved columns, as well as a former mausoleum converted into a church, namely Saint Domnius Cathedral. If you get peckish, stop off at a terrace in the Pjaca, the main square in the old town, where you can try a palacinka, a kind of pancake topped with melted cheese.
Arrival 13/6/2022 early morning
Departure 13/6/2022 late evening
Emblem of the Dalmatian coast, Dubrovnik is magnificently positioned on a rocky spur. History is sovereign here, in this ancient city, now a listed UNESCO World Heritage site. You will perhaps be surprised by the proportions of La Placa, the central drag through the city. The sheer width of it can be explained by the fact that it straddles a former lagoon. The elegant houses along La Placa are built in the legendary travertine stone. At Pile gate, you will be greeted by the statue of the patron saint of Dubrovnik, and you can admire the coastline as you walk along the ramparts. But what’s inside Fort Saint John, adjoining the outer walls? A maritime museum and an aquarium featuring rare fish from the Adriatic.

Situated in one of Montenegro’s most beautiful bays, the medieval city of Kotor is a small town full of charm, truly imbued with the traditions and stories of another time. Off the coast of Split, Hvar will surprise you by its traditions that have not changed since Antiquity. The country’s oldest town, Stari Grad, is here on this Dalmatian Island. The town nestles by a cove on the north-west coast, surrounded by dry stone wall structures on the Stari Grad plains. These have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site because they were built in the time of the Ancient Greeks. From these parcels of land come wines and olive oil manufactured manually. In the upper part of town, it is possible to discover hams and cheeses made by local producers.
Arrival 16/6/2022 early morning
Departure 16/6/2022 evening
Rovinj is located in Istria, a region bordering Slovenia. This becomes apparent as you walk through its old cobblestoned town. There are many monuments of Venetian influence here. If you study the Balbi arch, you will see the winged lion, symbol of Venice. The bell-tower erected beside Saint Euphemia Cathedral was designed like the bell of Saint Mark in Venice. From the top of the tower, you can scan the entire historical district. To absorb its quaint atmosphere, take a walk in the ochre and sepia-coloured streets leading to bustling squares and terraces shaded by canvas awnings.
Arrival 17/6/2022 early morning
Disembarkation 17/6/2022 at 8:00 am
Proud and eternal, Venice has reigned on its lagoon ever since the 6th century. You may think you know this city before even setting foot here. You will inevitably fall in love with the charm of the innumerable treasures of the Serenissima: Saint Mark’s square, the basilica, Doges palace, the Grand Canal and the gondolas. Yet, secret Venice is also waiting for you to explore its little interlacing streets and canals, to ramble through its squares and to push open the doors of its churches. The city’s extraordinary heritage shouldn’t stop you from enjoying a glass of Spritz and a few tramezzini.
Built on a peninsula, the streets of Korcula are organised around its main artery according to a "fishbone" plan drawn in the 13th century. To overcome the lack of space within the walls of the old town, squares are small, houses are narrow, churches and public buildings are constructed vertically. Fully fortified in the 16th century; its walls were destroyed in the 19th century and only a section of a wall still faces the harbour.
From the pier, meet your guide and start your walking tour of the old town.
Your first visit will be the Bishop’s Palace and its Icon museum. The museum contains a unique collection of Byzantine Icons from the 13th to the 15th century and ceremonial pieces from the 17th and 18th centuries. The collection is primarily from Korcula sailors, who acquired the pieces on their journeys, especially to Crete, in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Then, you will discover Saint Mark’s Cathedral. This cathedral is probably the most important building in Korcula Old Town. Completed in the 15th century at the place of another church from 13th century, it is built in Gothic-Renaissance style. It was erected by local masters and craftsmen of stone masonry, very well known for their Renaissance and Baroque pieces in Dubrovnik and Venice.
Continue your exploration with the visit of the Korcula Town Museum. Facing the cathedral, the museum is housed in Gabrielis palace, a 3-storey building with basement and attic built between the 15th and 16th century. The museum presents various collections covering the history and culture of the town from the Ancient times to nowadays.
During your walking tour, you can see the monumental staircase which joins the Revelin Tower. This 14th century portal and its 15th century Revelin tower frame the only land access to the walled Old Town. The gate is embellished on the inside with a sculpture of Saint Mark's lion over its arch.
Finally, you will have the choice between following your guide to join your ship or strolling on your own.

From the pier, meet your guide and stroll through the main street of Dubrovnik toward Pile Gate to the kayak centre.
After listening to the safety instructions, you will board your kayak and start your adventure.
You will row between the fortresses of Bokar and Lovrijenac.
The Bokar fortress is listed among Dubrovnik’s medieval fortresses and overlooks the south-west part of the old town. This circular fortress, dating from the 15th century, was built over a period of more than one century. This important monument, overshooting the medieval walls, was a key element in Dubrovnik’s defence system, including Pile Gate and City Bridge. In addition to its defensive role, it also served as a prison during the 19th century. Fort Bokar is one of the oldest castles of its kind in the world.
Built upon a 37-metre-high sheer rock overlooking the sea, fortress Lovrijenac is one of the most impressive locations in Dubrovnik. This detached fortress was of prime importance for the defence of the western part of Dubrovnik, both against attacks from land and the sea. Chronologists date the fort to 1018 or 1038. However, first records of the fort’s existence are from 1301 when the council elected the Commander of the Fort. According to legend, in the 11th century Venice planned to send its troops to this rock in front of Dubrovnik and build a fortress in order to conquer the city. However, Dubrovnik learned about this plan and the citizens were mobilised to erect a fortress at the very same spot before the Venetians arrive. While all the other fortresses are part of the city wall system, this one stands high on its own rock, a position which earned it the title ‘the Gibraltar of Dubrovnik’.
Leaving the forts behind, you will steer a course round the city walls to Lokrum. According to legend, Richard the Lionheart was cast ashore here after being shipwrecked in 1192 when he came back of his 3rd crusade. You will make a stop at the island, enjoy some refreshments and have time at leisure to discover the island or have a swim.

Enjoy the scenery and architecture of the old historical town of Perast which, between the 13th and 18th centuries, belonged to Venice. The most beautiful buildings were constructed under the period of the Republic of Venice in the 17th and 18th centuries when Perast was at its peak. The stone plateau in the middle of the sea with a church on it is the result of the enduring efforts of generations of sailors. The island was built artificially by scuttling old ships and depositing stones around a small crag. The construction of a sanctuary began in the first century of the Venetian rule. The sanctuary was dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin because this cult was greatly venerated by the Venetians. On the altar is the famous icon of Our Lady of the Rock, a 15th century work by Lovro Marinov Dobricevic. It is the most valuable work of art in the church because its history is so closely related to that of the island, the only artificially built island in the Adriatic. You will be transferred to the Hotel Due Torri 5*, located in the heart of Verona (about 1 ½ hours).

Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2?–?Verona
This day will be spent discovering Verona.
Often considered the most beautiful city in Northern Italy after Venice, Verona is also called “la piccola Roma” (the little Rome). Indeed, the first noteworthy landmark upon arriving in the city is the Arena, one of the biggest amphitheatres of the Roman world and one of the best preserved.
You will take a guided tour of the Arena, built in 30 AD under the reign of Emperor Augustus outside the walls of the ancient Roman city. This elliptical amphitheatre is 152 metres (500 ft) long and 128 metres (420 ft) wide. Its outside walls reach a height of 32 metres (105 ft). It is undoubtedly the most well-preserved in Italy and could accommodate 30,000 spectators there to watch circus games, gladiatorial combats and other popular entertainment.
Because the amphitheatre has excellent acoustics, in 1913, to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi, the tenor Giovanni Zenatello and the producer Ottone Rovato decided to create an opera festival that was inaugurated with a performance of Aida.
To the sound of an aria from Norma… You will set off to discover the city in the footsteps of the famous opera singer Maria Callas. It was in Verona that, during an audition, Giovanni Zenatello (the Arena creative director) became enthralled by the young woman’s talent, and in June 1947 Maria Callas left the port of New York to make her debut at one of European most prestigious festivals. You will go past the Pensione Accademia (where she sojourned), the Pedavena restaurant, the house where she lived, and the church where she got married.
You will have lunch at a local restaurant in the city centre.
To round off your visit of the city, you will discover Shakespeare in the streets of Verona through the story of the star-crossed lovers, Juliet Capulet and Romeo Montague. The two heroes, the children of two feuding families, married in secret. To avoid a forced marriage, in the absence of Romeo, Juliet drank a potion to fall into a very deep sleep. Believing her dead, Romeo poisoned himself. When Juliet woke up, she was so heartbroken that she took her own life… The most performed play of the English playwright was born in Verona. In the company of your guide, you will follow in their footsteps.
The rest of your day will be free time to stroll around at your leisure, and perhaps treat yourself to some of the local specialities along the banks of the Adige.
Day 3?–?Verona/Vicenza/Venice
You will leave the hotel in the late morning, for a one-hour drive to Vicenza.
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and surrounded by the Berici Hills, Vicenza is utterly charming with beautiful architecture. Considered a pearl of the Renaissance, it is known for being the city of Andrea Palladio. This brilliant 16 th-century architect is behind the city’s most famous buildings and sites.
To discover this exceptional architectural heritage, you will stroll through the very lively historic centre that is brimming with works of art.
Along the Corso Palladio, the city’s high street, you will find fashion and art shops. But more importantly, you can admire a succession of superb patrician houses, such as Palazzo Valmarana and Palazzo Chiericati, built by Palladio in 1550 and now housing the Museo Civico.
The most remarkable landmark in the city is the Teatro Olimpico, Palladio last creation. It is the oldest enclosed theatre in Europe. Its light structure, composed mainly of wood and stucco, is painted in trompe l’oeil imitating marble. The theatre is arranged like those of ancient times, with seating tiers.
Not far from it stands the Church of Santa Corona. This huge Gothic church was erected in 1261 to house a thorn from Jesus Christ’s crown. Inside, important paintings by Bellini and Veronese can be admired.
A pleasant wander through the city centre will lead you to Piazza dei Signori, lined with 15 th-century buildings and overlooked by the imposing Palazzo della Ragione, often called “the Basilica”, easily identifiable by its green roof. It was originally a Gothic-style building that served as the seat of government.
After lunch in a typical restaurant, you will leave the centre of Verona and head for the Basilica of Monte Berico. It sits on a hill planted with cypress tree in the south of the city, a holiday destination for the rich Vicenzian lords. The Baroque-style basilica was built in the 15 th century. It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, who is said to have appeared several times in this spot during the plague outbreaks that took place from 1426 to 1428.
Right near there, you will admire the Villa La Rotonda, a jewel of Palladian architecture built between 1550 and 1552. Its regular and symmetrical shape is reminiscent of an antique temple with a square layout and a dome.
At the end of your visit you will head to Venice (approximately a one-hour trip) to board your ship.
Your hotel:

Built on a peninsula, the streets of Korcula are organised around its main artery according to a "fishbone" plan drawn in the 13th century. To overcome the lack of space within the walls of the old town, squares are small, houses are narrow, churches and public buildings are constructed vertically.
Enjoy the scenery and architecture of the old historical town of Perast which, between the 13th and 18th centuries, belonged to Venice. The most beautiful buildings were constructed under the period of the Republic of Venice in the 17th and 18th centuries when Perast was at its peak. The Parish Church in Perast was built in 1740 by the Venetian architect, Giuseppe Beati but only the church tower and the church vault remain. You will visit the St. Nicholas Church, patron saint of the sailors.
There are two small islands in the close vicinity of Perast: St. George Island and Our Lady of the Rock Island.
You will reach the man-made islet of Our Lady of the Rocks after a 15-minute boat ride. The church itself is decorated with more than 2,500 votive tablets made of silver, mostly donated by seamen.
